I make the gold used from grains of 24ct gold which is melted down and rolled out many times, to a very fine layer. Despite being very fine, the gold is around 8 times thicker than gold used in vermeil. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe earrings are then oxidised to give them a darkened patina, which will wear back slowly to reveal the natural silver colour with age.
