The ancient technique of Keum Boo (meaning 'applied gold') is used to permanently apply \u0026amp; bond the fine layer of pure gold to the fine silver surface of the ring, using only heat \u0026amp; pressure. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe whole ring is then oxidised to an almost charcoal\/ gunmetal grey, to increase the contrast between the 2 precious metals \u0026amp; texture. The dark oxidised surface colouring will eventually wear back to silver, where it gets rubbed, with the deeper sections staying dark, which gives the ring a gorgeous antique look.
